Rotate PDF
Rotate pages in your PDF to the correct orientation.
Rotate PDF turns pages 90°, 180°, or 270° to fix sideways scans, landscape pages mixed into a portrait document, or upside-down content. Lossless — the page content is unchanged, only the orientation metadata.

How Rotate PDF works
Rotation in PDF is a metadata operation, not a re-render. Every page in a PDF carries a /Rotate value (0, 90, 180, or 270) that tells viewers how to display the page relative to its native orientation. Changing this value rotates the displayed output without touching the underlying content stream — so a rotated page is byte-for-byte the same file size and quality as before.
SwitchPDF uses pdf-lib to update the /Rotate value on the pages you select. Because we never re-rasterize, the operation is fast (a few hundred milliseconds for a 100-page document), lossless, and preserves searchable text, embedded fonts, and image resolution exactly.
You can rotate the entire document at once (typical when a scanner fed pages sideways) or rotate specific pages (typical when one landscape spreadsheet page got mixed into a portrait report). Page ranges work the same way they do in our other tools: "1-3, 7, 12-15" rotates only the listed pages.
For more complex orientation work — different rotations on different pages, plus reordering, plus deletions — use our Organize PDF tool, which offers a visual page-by-page interface for all three operations at once.
